Professional images and photos are always in danger of being used by other people without the artist's consent. A watermark will not prevent someone from downloading an image, but it will display your name or other information in case it is being used without your knowledge. Instead of loading an image with an advanced, complicated and maybe expensive software in order to simply add a watermark, you can use uMark for a simpler and faster process.

You can get a freeware version of uMark by downloading a zipped file which is 3.52 Mb large. It can be installed in less than a minute and it is compatible with all the popular versions of Windows. System requirements are not high, so there is no need to upgrade your system just yet.

The software allows watermarking multiple images in one run. After adding your images by browsing for files or whole folders, you can preview them on the larger area on the right side of the window. Switching between image previews can be done by clicking on different entries in a files list, in the upper left corner of the window.

The watermarks can be either text or image and they can be added by clicking an Add button in the lower left corner of the window. No matter which one you choose, a new window will be brought up where you can make a series of settings regarding the watermark's look. If you insert a text, the window will feature options for changing the font, its size and color, setting a transparency level and more. The options for an image watermark are a bit simpler. You will only have to browse for the image file, adjust its transparency, padding, rotate it, and others.

When the adjustments are complete, the watermarks will be placed over the image in the preview area. Before saving, you can move a watermark around by simply clicking and dragging it. After clicking the Start Watermarking button in the lower left area of the interface, a window with the final settings will appear. You can set an output path, name size or format and finally, click the Start button. The process will take a few seconds and you can find the results in your specified folder. If you need to watermark an image immediately, uMark can add a new option in the Explorer context menu. Simply right click an image, choose "Add Watermark" and the program will launch. The image will be loaded automatically, so you can start editing right away.

Pros

uMark's main strength lies in its simplicity. All you have to do is load an image, click a few buttons and export the watermarked images.

Cons

There are no basic editing options for the images, like cropping or rotating. There is no easier and faster way to watermark an image than using uMark. It makes it possible to add watermarks to any number of images with a few clicks of the mouse.
